This is complete bullshit. Let’s get three things straight

1. I hate IE and it’s a lame excuse of a browser
2. IE is a product of M$’s OS, just like Paint.
3. IE is NOT required in anyway anymore for updates to the Windows OS.

This really irks me. I’ve been hating IE since I started web development years ago. It’s an out of date browser from the time they release a major upgrade, but it’s M$ software. What do you expect?

They made it, and they made the OS in which you are using it on. They allow you download and use Firefox, Safari, Chrome or Opera. Is anyone complaining about Paint being included? How about the fact that it’s just now being updated since, what, Windows 95? How about all the other shitty software you get installed when you buy a new computer like Norton Anti Virus.

Let’s look at some other disturbing browser facts:

• Safari comes on each new Mac installed, as is IE on Windows.
• Firefox ships with most Linux distros, as is IE on Windows.
• Safari is the browser for the iPhone, and you can’t change it.
• Opera is the browser for the Wii, and you can’t change it.
• Netfront is the browser for the PSP, and you can’t change it.

How about we sue all of them and ban ALL of the browsers? Oh yeah, now I remember, it’s because people just like hating M$. Don’t get me wrong about this either. I don’t use Windows except to test in IE. I use a Mac and Ubuntu. I can’t stand Windows, but this browser war stuff that Mozilla and Opera are starting is fucked and it’s just to bring up their market share.

And finally, for the love of God people, you really think that John Doe knows the difference between IE8, Firefox 3.5, Safari 4, and Chrome? Well guess what, they don’t know, and they don’t care. It’s OUR job as web developers to educate the public, not to confuse them with (just off my memory):

2. Firefox
3. Safari
4. Chrome
5. Opera
6. IE
7. Flock
8. Konqueror
9. SeaMonkey
10. Amaya
